I struggle every now and then getting focussed. I often find myself getting side tracked into something which is interesting and fun but not necessarily, you know, required. I have gotten-by with this ‘bad-habit’ for quite some time but I think that as I am getting older, its becoming more and more difficult. I tend to get attracted by something new before the task at hand is completed. What this has done over the years is helped me to know a lot of stuff! But then, it has also kept me from achieving something truly great and fulfilling.
I believe that I am turning (if not already) into the proverbial ‘jack of all trades’! Not a very bad thing on its own, don’t get me wrong but knowing everything about…lets say Brunei doesn’t really help in your job..now does it?! But many a times I just can’t help it…such is the allure of wandering and losing focus. I feel I can ‘see’ more when I am not ‘focussed’! I know…weird but true.
I wonder is this only me? If not, what can I do to rid myself of this habit. I call upon you guys to help me and share your focusing mechanisms, any system you follow or any other suggestion you might throw my way…
Looking forward for your suggestions and comments.
